Clubs, Groups and Societies

Listed below are details of local clubs, groups and societies within the Parish which may interest you.

If you would like your club/society to be included please provide details such as: the name of the society, venue where you meet, timing of events, the purpose of the group, a short history of the club and contact details. If you have a website please give the web address which would enable a link to be included on our website. Details of your group, in no more than 100 words, should be sent to the Village Clerk, who will edit submissions as appropriate.

Sharing the details of your group to a wider audience will assist your club and give all residents information about the activities available in our village.

Girlguiding Burstead District
Girlguiding has Brownies (aged 7-10) meeting at Langham Hall and Rainbows (aged 5-7) and Brownies meeting at South Green Memorial Hall.

Grenfell Pre-school

Grenfell Pre-school meets at South Green Memorial Hall, Southend Rd. Billericay every weekday morning from 9.15 -11.45 and Mon. Tue. & Fri. afternoons from 12.30 - 3.00 during term-time. There is also a lunch club offered for children wanting to stay from 9.15 -3.00 p.m. The group has been operating for over 30 years and is rated 'Good' by Ofsted. We offer learning through play in our spacious hall and large safely fenced outdoor area for children aged from 2 years and can access Government funding.

Ladybird Song Group
The ladybirds are a group of friendly ladies who entertain at residential care homes and clubs in Billericay and neighbouring towns. With the use of backing tracks, we sing popular songs from the 1940s to the present day. We offer our services free of charge, although a donation to cover our travel expenses and insurance is always appreciated!

We rehearse every Tuesday evening between 8.00 and 10 pm at South Green Memorial Hall. If anyone would welcome our hour-long show, or would like to join us, please contact Pam, 07891 554452 , ladybirdsonggroup@outlook.com or find us on Facebook.

Redbacks Baseball Club
Redbacks Baseball club are offering free taster sessions for anyone who is interested. More information can be found on the following poster, as well as the relevant contact details. South Green WI

South Green Women's Institute meets at South Green Memorial Hall, Southend Road, Billericay at 8pm on the third Thursday of each month (except for August). We are a lively group who meet to listen to speakers or watch demonstrations whilst sharing refreshments, holding a raffle and generally socialising. We also hold monthly Saturday craft events, a book club, outings and lunches. New members are always very welcome!
